Setting the right environment for creative, strategic problem-solving

Facilitating events that unlock stakeholder collaboration to achieve business outcomes

THE CHALLENGE

We’ve delivered full, multi-day and part-day events both in-person and virtually to help a variety of clients, either as a standalone engagement or as a key component of a broader project engagement. While the clients and their challenges varied, our approach means we take a consistent approach to understanding, planning for and running these events.  The challenges these clients encountered included:

  • Worthwhile ideas or initiatives struggling to achieve stakeholder buy-in or gather the momentum needed to succeed

  • Teams not on the same page, so efforts pulled in too many different directions and competed against each other for traction

  • The pressures of day-to-day work make it difficult to take focused time and headspace for true problem-solving

Over the past couple of years, organisations have struggled to bring people together in meaningful and effective ways to collaborate on the things that truly matter. Increasingly dispersed teams and the reliance on video-enabled meetings make it difficult to get everyone together to have the deep exploratory conversations and playful, creative interactions that elevate work from transactional to transformational.

OUR APPROACH

Setting a common goal and establishing trust through shared understanding

Now that remote and varied work locations have become the norm for most of us, STCK believes organisations greatly benefit from having a great, creative and constructive reason to bring people together in person. And if that’s not possible, virtual spaces need a tailored design that unlocks creativity and collaboration.

More than simply ideating, we believe it is crucial to give space to have difficult conversations that overcome assumptions, biases and breakdown organisation politics.

Bringing sponsors and stakeholders on the journey

Designed with tangible outcomes in mind, we worked closely with stakeholders to ensure engagements are fit for purpose and achieve objectives co-created with the sponsor.

Cultivating the right environment for productive collaboration

Meaningful interactions don’t just happen by themselves; they have to be shaped. We planned, prepared and facilitated each event to ensure participants:

  • Are the right people to participate and make decisions

  • Have the right information available in-session

  • Are stepped through the right process to support their thinking and reach the right outcomes

  • Have the right tools and materials to take part effectively

  • Are supported with an environment (physical and social) that helps them participate with the right mindset and behaviours

Creating momentum for meaningful action

To ensure these events aren’t just a one-off and their value is realised long after everyone returns to their day-to-day job, we wrapped sessions with a set of materials that capture what was discussed, agreed and committed to.
